After HIS Story

wow what a night

July 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

i, robyn, am sitting here exhausted after a crazy life group that lasted almost 4 hours.  yes, 4 hours!  high school students are HUNGRY to meet with a real God.  not just hear about Him, but meet Him.

And that’s what happened tonight.  In our current sermon series, Jonathan is talking about “exploring our freedoms” or living a true life that dynamically encounters God.  right now we are talking about lies that keep us from the fullest of God.  tonight a lot of those were exposed in the high school.  from:  why did God make us if we are so flawed? to why can’t a live a crazy life and have God too?  this discussion lasted over an hour.

but what did we find out?  that God is the lover of all lovers who created us to choose Him.  it’s all about choosing relationship with God.  tonight we have 5 new girls hear it in a way that opened their hearts.  they are hungry.  they wanted my phone number!  a mom!  hahahahaha.

anyway, pray for the HS at ACC:W:

1) that they get plugged into GOD.  they want to experience God. pray for dreams & visions & dynamic encounters with Him.

2) that they get plugged into community – life group and discipleship.

3) that they are set on fire to take this to their friends, family, high schools, colleges, jobs, & nations!

lastly – quick halle lue update.  the stint got removed last week.  it all went great.  she will have 2 more tests run in 2 months to be the last evaluation of the surgery.  it should all be done.  pray for healing and for a successful right kidney!

long summer days

July 14, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Austin here, hope the summer is outstanding! I am getting warmed up to go hit the long ball in my last regular season softball game for the summer, so thought i would jot a few words. (our softball team by the way is awesome, we have already won two games this season)

The summer has been a blast, Halle’s surgery was a bit inconvenient but she is recovering well and the Lord’s grace has been awesome in overcoming fear and anxiety in it!
the Lord is continuing to do great things in the youth in the city. We had a gathering event toward the end of June where we invited anyone and everyone we saw and had a downtown wheaton wide treasure hunt. From that we have seen three girls repent of former lifestyles and get plugged in and after Jesus!
We also had a few kids head up to milwaukee last weekend where after a kid tryed to sell them some drugs they led him to Jesus!
It has been so encouraging seeing Jesus move in these kids as they walk away from sin patterns, sharing the Gospel and experiencing freedom!

Halle, also enjoying the long summer days

Halle, also enjoying the long summer days

Thanks everyone for following our lives this!  WE are blessed by you guys and hope everyone is having a rocking summer

surgery update

July 2, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Yay! Surgery is over.  We just wanted to update everyone on how everything went.   Thank you for all your prayers!

Halle did so well.  The surgery went off without a hitch and they were able to repair her right kidney.  They basically just had to remove  “the kinked hose” and straighten out her uretur (the tube that connects the kidney to the bladder).  Once they did that, they were able to drain and reshape where her kidney had been swollen.  All in all, this should be the last surgery she needs!

She responded so well that all the tubes were taken out early Tuesday morning and we were discharged that afternoon.  We have been resting at home, but she is back to her usual self, bouncing in her bed, laughing and smiling.

Austin & I are doing well also!  We were able to walk in peace.  I didn’t even cry!  We are so thankful to God for this process.

What Next?
  • 2 week follow-up appointment with the uralogist
  • 4-6 weeks out Halle will have a stint taken out in an outpatient procedure
  • Follow-up with the same tests she had before the surgery to see how everything is healing
  • Monitoring with ultrasounds for a few months

Thanks again for walking with us.
Austin & Robyn & Halle Lue
