halle lue’s surgery

hi all-

please pray for halle lue tomorrow.  she has surgery to correct the flow of her right kidney.  the surgery is at 11 CST.  Thanks!

high school

WOW!  We have sooooo much going on in the high school at the same time.  Sorry we have been lack on the ministry updates!  There are sooo many.

1) We have named our Youth Ministry.  The youth section will be called: the youthNATiON.  This speaks to us 2 things:

• Unity: We are a group of people, called to freedom in God, who will walk that out together everyday.
• Ownership:  We are responsible for our people group within the greater Wheaton area.  We are the “governers” of the youth nation here in Wheaton.

2) We are living out this Unity & Ownership through living out ACTS 2:42-47 everyday this summer!  Like a good friend just said, “Acts 2 is a floor, not a ceiling.”  We are striving to live out dynamic community in our youth this summer through purposeful times of hanging out, sharing the gospel, praying for the sick, and seeking God’s face like crazy.  The goal is to be more HUNGRY for God than when we started.

3) We just had a community event where we hosted the girls at the Hoxie’s house for a sleepover, and the boys took off with Austin for camping!  We had women of God and men of God talks!  They were great.  Our kids are hungry to honor God is their attitudes, their appearance and in relationships.  We talked about dating, appearance, and how to seek God’s face.  It was a highlight of the summer.

halle lue update

Thank you thank you for all of your prayers for little miss halle lue. Here’s a quick update!
 
1) She did AWESOME on the fast.  It was the grace of God.  She didn’t wake up until 8:45… the exact time we needed to leave to go to the hospital!  So she didn’t have to hang around the house w/o food and her normal schedule.  She normally wakes up at 7!  And at the hospital we didn’t have to wait to long.  She did sign language another mom that she wanted to eat the graham cracker the mom was holding, but that was quickly diverted w/ a paci. 
 
2) The reflux on her LEFT kidney is completely healed and gone!!!! Praise God!!  So this means that all the antibiotics she was needing to take, she doesn’t need any more!!!! YAY!  I wanted to sing and praise God right there in the hospital.
 
3) Her RIGHT kidney is still swollen, but is functioning at 20% capacity.  Because of that, they think there is a great chance of fixing her kidney so that she can have 2 fully functioning ones! This is SO encouraging because I can remember when they were telling us that she was only going to have 1 kidney! 
 
So all in all, it was a very encouraging time at the hospital.  We had total favor with the nurses, the doc, and had a overall very enjoyable time there. 
 
How can you still be praying?  

• She has surgery scheduled for this Monday, June 29th.  Please pray for a safe surgery, God-guided hands for the surgeon, a easy/quick surgery, healing, and rapid recovery.  She will not be able to do much for about a week after and will be recovering for a couple weeks. 
• Favor with doctors, & no transportation issues (the hospital is St. Lutheran in the city)
• Peace over Austin & I – and that we could minister to the nurses/doctors/patients at the hospital.

halle lue hospital visit

hey all-

halle lue is going into the hospital all day tomorrow for tests on her kidney.  she’s going to be having a mag 3 renal scan and a vcug to test how her kidneys flow and how much her right one is blocked.  she is going to have to be sedated for the tests.

please pray for her & us:

1) for miraculous physical healing of her kidney and that it would be medically verified.  God has spoken several times that she is already healed

2) for favor w/ the nurses and doctors, the ability to love and share the gospel w/ them & to hear their wisdom through God’s lens

3) for protection over halle lue as she undergoes these tests and peace/grace to do the fast they put her on (for the sedation)
