hoxie 2008 yr review

This yr has been a memorable one for us as a family.  I think it will truly be a benchmark yr for us in our walk with Jesus.   We have found Jesus to be more ALIVE than we can ever imagine.  He has been our provider, our freedom, our healer, our GOD, the most extravagant love that we could ever imagine.  His kingdom is worth it! 

So here we go… how did we get here?  Great question.  2008 recap here we come!!!!

1) We went to India in January 2008 to help initiate and set up our church plant that is currently there.  God used India to unite Austin & I more in our marriage, to stir our hearts more for the youth in Wheaton, and teach us about evangelism.  We came back more envisioned for seeing all of the high schoolers in Wheaton reached with the love of Jesus.

2) We came back in February and found out that we were having a little girl!  Halle Lue!  But we also found out she had a kidney issue!  It was something the Lord did in us for months, but we finally got to the point where God’s WORD was the final authority in our life. Jesus’ intention for Halle is WHOLENESS and HEALTH, but he used what the enemy intended for evil for good.  Halle’s parents are now stronger and know God as the HEALER.  She came into the world June 4th, 2008.  Praise God that today Halle is a 6 month healthy, healed, perfect little baby girl! 

3) Around that time (Apr-June), the fire got really turned up on us.  We came on staff at ACC:W which meant raising support for us.  This was a definite test of our faith as Austin and I have been very financially independent in our lives.  But we found God to be our provider!  Right now we are at 50% support, yet every bill is paid, food is on the table, and we even get treats along the way!  We have a great Father.  Also at this time, one week after having Halle, we learned that the city of Wheaton repossesed our building and we had to move!  Within 6 weeks!  But again, God was our provider and landed us in the perfect house to be able to reach out to high schoolers in Wheaton.  And we have awesome landlords!  Please come visit!

4) The fall has been a time of the Holy Spirit being our teacher.  From learning how to lead, how to minister, how to share the gospel, how to disciple, how to be parents… our God has it covered.  He is a great leader.  If you ask him for wisdom, He gives without measure.  Our newest place of seeking God is in how He is truly ALIVE and active.  He is our rear guard and fore guard and His hand is upon us!! Pslam 139.

Upcoming EVENTS:

We will be traveling traveling.  We went to TX for Turkey day!  It was a blast seeing the family.  We will be headed to Washington D.C. for Christmas to see the Hoxie’s.  And then, for the new year, we will be headed back to India with this yr.’s ATS class – to lead!

1) For safe travel & wisdom in how to pack for and travel with Halle Lue.

2) For peace over our families as we head back to India

3) Deeper intimacy with Jesus

4) For new lifegroups to be planted in the High School and for continued growth while we are gone
